Upgrading to the latest version of Trend Micro OfficeScan is surprisingly easy. Here’s how we did it.
1. Uninstall the old version from the server.
2. Install the new version on the server. Use the same license key from the old version. It will work like a charm.
When the Trend Micro OfficeScan Client installed on the workstations automatically updates, it will download and install the new client from the server. As an administrator, all you have to do is wait until all of them upgrades automatically. They will be required to restart their PC though, so, just shoot an e-mail to your users informing them of the activity.
You might ask, do you really need to upgrade? What’s new in version 10 anyway? I have browsed it and found new features. Among them, I like Device Control the most.
Device Control makes managing of removable devices easily. You can give full access, read only access, read and execute access, or completely no access to USB ports, CD drives, floppy drives and even network folders.
Other added features are SmartScan, Behavioral Pattern and Active Directory integration.
Wow! Officescan 10 na! Nice 🙂
I love the smart scan feature, lightweight na sya sa mga clients.
WE’RE USING SYMANTEC ENDPOINT HERE ON OUR OFFICE. ON ITS 11.0 VERSION. IT HAS A SERVER AND A CLIENT END ALSO, MUCH SEEMS LIKE OFFICESCAN.
WORKING NICE ON US, nice thing to know that there’s other software that does the same.

I personally use the 9th version of BitDefender which had never disappointed me. Soon will appear the latest version of it. Until then I continue to use the 9th version because it has lots of features that can be useful anytime and anywhere you navigate on the internet. It protects you from viruses, spyware, rootkits, hackers, online fraud, identity theft and all other Internet threats.
happy bday tol!
