I was actually planning to say goodbye to Widgetbucks next month after my earnings decreased dramatically when they implemented their new policy. What used to be a $20+ per week earnings dropped to $3+ per week!
But yesterday, I received an e-mail from them. They discovered a bug from their system that they were not able to track clicks from my ads that use their Merchsense technology since November 16. So, that’s the reason I don’t see any clicks on those widgets despite the fact that 40% of my visitors are coming from USA and Canada.
So, to correct their mistakes, they gave me some click credits based on the widgets’ performance from November 1 to 15. Which means that if I have a CTR of 1% from November 1 to 15, they’ll give me a 1 click credit for every 100 impressions of my ads on the period Nov 16 to 21. This seems favorable to me because from November 1 to 15, clicks from outside the US and Canada were still credited. 😀
After those changes, I see that I can still make their minimum $50 payout every month. An extra $50 per month is better than nothing. So, I’m keeping their ads on this blog, but geo-targeted for US and Canada only.
An advise to my fellow bloggers, target keywords that are commonly searched by people from US and Canada, so you can earn from Widgetbucks. Hint: These people are fond of Myspace and Facebook, so optimize for keywords related to them. Forget Friendster keywords. Hehe.
To those who think that Widgetbucks is a scam, think again. They will not hire a Marketing Project Manager whose one of the responsibilities is Assisting our CFO with payment fulfillment to WidgetBucks publishers each month and other reporting/payments to our partners if they are a scam.

That sounds great Marghil. I guess, your geo-targeting move was excellent. An added $50 per month is great. Hehe.
Good luck pre. 🙂
