After a week of putting Widgetbucks on my blogs, I can finally conclude that the switch I made from Amazon to Widgetbucks is the right decision. The click-thru rate (CTR) of the advertisement is high, almost comparable to Adsense when placed at an optimal position. And the earning potential? I already earned $20+ even if I placed the ads on a low CTR position (below the fold and at the footer). The amount per click is higher than Google Adsense too. Let’s just say that the amount I earned on Widgetbucks ($20+) will just give me a measly $8 to $10 on Adsense for that same number of clicks on that same blog. Of course, I can’t divulge exact figures here because those are against the policy, so, all these values are estimates, just to give you a hint of what’s going on.
Now, I decided to optimize Widgetbucks ad placement to get a much higher CTR than last week. If you check my textmates blog, I already put Widgetbucks ad inside the post of the permalink pages. Hopefully, it gives more bucks. An extra $20+ per week is better than nothing that Amazon gave me last year. Hehehe. Hopefully, after the tweaks I made, it becomes $20 per day.

ah ganon ah… aabangan kita sa labas hehe..
barely got a dollar on my widgetbucks.. 🙂
Anyway, thanks for your comment on my URL plugin post.
Unfortunately, AuctionAds still works best for me. Although, I don’t deny I have an ad from Widgetbucks.
I have had WidgetBucks installed for a week now. So far I have had no click-throughs. I’m not too surprised by that as none of the categories suit my blogs very well. However if you have a technology blog, or if you write a lot about digital cameras you should do well at it.
Although I have had no commission from it so far, I have gotten a couple of referrals. Hopefully they have technology-related blogs!
@COB… hehehe. kumusta na ang NZ?
@Eli… you’re welcome. unti-unti, lalaki din yang kita mo 😉
@SL Lindens… I have AuctionAds too, but I don’t earn that much. Pay-per-action model doesn’t seem to like me.
@Sean… I don’t have a technology blog. The one that get lots of click is my text messages blog. I put mobile phone ads there, because people searching for text messages (SMS) have mobile phones and probably be interested on those ads :). I already got 12 referrals, hopefully, they earn a lot so that I got some commision too.
I got also a dollar for my http://www.pwsonglyrics.blogspot.com mas malaki ang kita sa adsense for me..
By the way nakita mo na ba yung additional $25
@Dexter… mas malaki pa rin ang kita ng Adsense sa akin, I just compared the amount per click, mas malaki sa Widgetbucks, pero mas takaw click pa rin ang Adsense. About the $25 bonus, according to their official blog, it will be reflected next week, including the earnings from referrals. 😉
i just signed up on widgetbucks using your link, i’ll be your referral then, i hope this would work for me. i can’t say which is better, as for myself, i just started adsense, i’m barely 2 weeks old on this ads business
@Ruby… thanks. sana nga, maging successful tayong lahat. since 2 weeks ka pa lang to this ad business, reading this might give you an inspiration 😉 experience ko yan nung nag-uumpisa pa lang ako.
Wow. That’s great. I barely had click throughs with my widget bucks too. Same with Sean.
I’m gonna play with the ad placements in the future to compare the click-throughs. Keep it up.
wow! an laki naman ng kita mo sa widgetbucks. hmmm napagisip mo ko dun a. thanks for sharing this.
This blog has insane number of ads. I had to scroll half an hour to read the actual content. Will I come back to this blog?
@MyHive… LOL! You have all the liberty to do what you want to do. I don’t force anyone to read my blog.
Thanks for the info! I will test right now
