Ok. This doesn’t mean that I hate my name. It’s just that I got these extra things to do in my life because my name is Marhgil and not Michael or any other popular and easy to remember name.
- On Starbucks, when the cashier asked for my name, I simply say my name is Mark. I just don’t want to go through the hassle of spelling my name and teaching them to pronounce it correctly.
- I taught my nieces to call me Tito Aga because they can’t pronounce my name properly. 🙂
- I have to claim marghil.blogspot.com because some people are linking to it instead of marhgil.blogspot.com.
- Most people of whom I got in touch only via e-mail thought I am a woman.
- Most of the time, my name was misspelled on ATM cards even though I correctly filled up their application forms. Yes, I need to go through all the hassles of correcting it.
- Up to now, most bloggers misspelled my name when quoting me. Try googling Marghil and you’ll see who they are. 🙂
- My siblings can’t even spell my name correctly, I even have to correct them.
- I need to discuss the etymology of my name from time to time (on job interviews, meeting new friends, etc.) because people are curious about it.
And no. I am not related to Lisa Macuja! (well, this doesn’t have to do with my first name but with my family name.)
at first i thought it was just an alias name.
